SUMMARY:Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu
DESCRIPTION:Delighted to introduce Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu. This is the Anmatyerr people of Yuelamu’s new art centre and gallery. We are situated three hours northwest of Alice Springs at Yuelamu in the Tanami desert\, Northern Territory\, Australia. \n\n\n\nWe only just formed in October 2023 from a desire to assert Anmatyerre identity through art and this is our very first exhibition.  We are presenting paintings from almost all of our artists and four of our most prolific painters including: Alison Ngal Daniels\, Shonelle Pwerrerl Stafford\, Lisa Mpetyan Cooke and Juliette Napaljarri Morris.  \n\n\n\nIn Anmatyerr Inkwareny means ‘honey ant’ and is from the inkwareny altyerr (songline).This exhibition will express altyerr (songlines) of: inkwareny (honey ant); Irrkwely (women); mwelyar (stone curlew); arnperrk (centipede); ankara (emu); yerrakwerr (bush onion); anek (bush potato); anakety (bush tomato) and kwaty (water). \n\n\n\nInkwareny Artists of Yuelamu is self-funded and governed by the Anmatyerre people and artists of Yuelamu.  \n\n\n\nYou are invited to join us for the opening Friday 9th February at 5-7pm.  Where Kathryn Coff from Nalderun will open the exhibition. Three of the artists will be attending the opening and gallery sessions over the first two weekends. \n\n\n\nThe gallery will be open from 11am-4pm\, Friday-Sunday from Friday 9 February until  Sunday 25 February.

SUMMARY:INTERSECTION (Opening Party)
DESCRIPTION:INTERSECTION brings together recent work by Bethia Lord\, Fenn\, Heather Wallace\, Lynette McNaughton\, Supina Bytol and Virginia Harkin. Works span a diverse spectrum of artistic practice – including printmaking\, painting\, sculpture and mix media. The six artists have recently completed the visual art Professional Practice course at Castlemaine Community House. All are on a pathway\, exploring and growing their creative selves – this is where their journeys intersect.INTERSECTION is presented by the artists in collaboration with Lucas Maddock\, arts educator at Castlemaine Community House.
