Arts Open 2024

Arts Open – Meet The Makers is an artist run event designed to celebrate and promote regional visual arts on Jaara Country in historic Castlemaine, Newstead, Maldon, Taradale and district. Offering a rare opportunity to visit studios and galleries and experience a behind the scenes, personal look at artists in their natural habitat, discuss their artwork and techniques, and purchase directly from the artist.
A selection of lot19 artists will be throwing open their studios during Arts Open 2024, alongside a mixed media group show in the lot19 gallery.
lot19 artists participating in Arts Open 2024 include Castlemaine Press, Ella Hughes, Jakob Schmidt, Karin Mainwaring, Liz Telford, Simon Dubbeld and Indija Mahjoeddin.
In the gallery – curated by Suzanne Donisthorpe, Pretty/Ugly will explore the age old question- what is beauty?, with works by Eliza Jane Gilchrist, Jackie Gorring, Andy Jackson, Les Thornton, Rachel Wenona Guy and Bill Sampson.
Arts Open Studios runs March 9/10/11 and 16/17, 10am-4pm.
