Home: Paul Dunn
Apr 13th @ 11:00 am – Apr 27th @ 4:00 pm
HOME by Photographer Paul Dunn was created as part of the Opening Doors project. It is a bold exhibition of large scale photographs of people living with a disability shot in their home environment, centering on the idea of ‘home’ – a universal concern for everyone.
The aim of the Opening Doors project (consisting of a website, films, booklet and photographs) was to assist people living with a disability in terms of information for renting, but also to break down barriers for those not living with a disability.
The project was managed by and features film from Melbourne Filmmaker Lawrence Johnson, best known for his films ETERNITY, about Sydney’s infamous ‘Mr Eternity’ for ABC, and FALLOUT, which explored the work of British Novelist Nevil Shute and his novel ‘On the Beach’ for SBS.
This suite of photographs have been acquired by The State Library of Victoria Photographic Collection and the gallery show was recently revisioned and commissioned by the Melbourne Metrotunnel Creative Program and exhibited at their Swanston Street site.
Home runs opens Saturday 13 April and is open Saturdays & Sundays 11:00am-4pm until Sunday 28 April.
