This show is a humble shot at reality, a celebration of the inherent joy of life, and the pleasures of yelling at clouds.
It is what happens when artists scream at clouds, stare down Carousel, fight the demolition orders as they are being read, and find themselves unable to stomach the meal being served.
Dominic Crinson's work brings together painting and ceramics through an exploration of geometry, material and process. Beginning with universal archetypal forms, his work has evolved into a personal geometry shaped as much by the response of the material as by intention. Working with clay, pigment and gold, he embraces the unpredictable nature of making, allowing cracks, ruptures and transformation to become integral to the finished work.
